The Ordinary (Skincare)

I bought The Ordinary products shortly after local retailers announced that they'd have stock of this popular brand.

I have been working on improving my skincare as the products I have been using for years aren't fighting early signs of ageing, sun damage and dull uneven skin.

This was my experience during and after using each product.

Vitamin C

After 3 weeks of giving this Vitamin C solution a chance and pushing through pain, I had to stop not having used more than 10% of the product which is quite frustrating. Out of the many Ordinary products I bought, this was the worst in terms of the most severe reaction I had from using a product, the slightly granular solution burnt my face so badly it left my face scarred. Never again.

Retinol

I expected to react to retinol the most and I did on the first week and the rest of the time, nothing happened. No slightly evening of the skin tone, none of the quick cell turn over I was hoping for. Over time, it became another oil I apply during my evening skincare routine. No improvement whatsoever.

Niacinamide

This proved to be the best purchase out of the three. It softened my skin, helped lighten some of the scars left from getting burned by the Vitamin C solution and smoothed the texture on my face a bit. It did not shrink my pores as some people have mentioned it did for them in their online reviews.
It did however, make my skin sensitive to the sun and even with an SPF 50 cream I use daily, I needed to cover my face because it hurt to be outside during the hottest times each day.
