Current Summer Skincare

Nivea Daily Essentials Range and  Perfect & Radiant Range are my go-to options for summer skincare for my sensitive and combination skin. The cleanser is gentle and no-drying, the toner is relatively mild and doesn’t burn my skin like most toners do and it is a good alternative to the Nature’s Nourishment Rosewater from Dischem which I mentioned in my winter skincare post.

I usually reduce the amount of moisturiser I use in summer because of sweat and humidity and my T-zone tends to be oilier in hotter seasons. Sunscreen is a bit of a slippery slope because it is essential but I always get sunburned, even if I apply it with bright colors and avoid being outside between 10am and 3pm in Summer. The only sunscreen I have used that is relatively functional is the Dermopal SPF30 Sunscreen from Dischem and each time I end up giving it to one of my siblings half-way through because it is greasy!

I recently bought the Bionike Acteen Sun SPF 50+ and I added the Eucerin SPF50+ Oil Control Dry Touch to try after one of my former housemates mentioned that she used it and vouched that it works, truly mattifies and is a good base/primer when applying makeup. And lastly, I added this last item, La Roche-Posay Fluide Invisible because everyone is raving about it (yes, I am influenced by the opinions of strangers from Instagram and Tiktok lol).

Prices differ depending on when you make your purchases and which retailer you go for.
